myPolitics Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected by Performance Champions, Inc and Fairwind Software that results from using our iOS application myPolitics. Our other iOS applications may have different privacy policies. We are the sole owners of the information collected when using the myPolitics application or our servers. We only have access to and collect information that you voluntarily give us via the application, that is provided automatically by your use of our application, or provided automatically by your access to our servers.
In order to share your opinion on the issues with others, you must complete the registration process and provide the optional demographic information. During registration you are required to give your email address and password. At your option, you may also provide other information (such as gender, birth year, location, etc.) about yourself, but it is not required. Providing this optional information is the only way for us to summarize your opinion and publish summary results.
Individually Identifiable Information
Individually Identifiable Information includes email address, password, and the, optionally provided, geographic location entered into the myPolitics application. We will use your Individually Identifiable Information to respond to you (regarding the reason you contacted us), to help us improve the myPolitics services, or to aggregate your opinions. Your Individually Identifiable Information is not intentionally viewable by other users of the myPolitics application. We will NOT share, sell, or rent your Individually Identifiable Information to anyone except as noted immediately below:
- With consent, to comply with legal process, or to protect us and our users. When we have your consent or if we believe that disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation or legal request; to protect the safety, rights, or property of the public, any person, or us; or to detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues. If we receive a law enforcement or other third party request for information we will provide prior notice to the subject of the request where we are legally permitted to do so.
- With third party service providers and agents. We may employ third party companies or individuals to process personal information on our behalf based on our instructions. These third parties may have their own privacy policies or be subject to ours. In any case, we will not enter into any agreement that allows the use of your Individually Identifiable Information for any reason except as stated herein. For example, we may share data with a security consultant to help us get better at preventing unauthorized access. We may also share data with hosting providers, payment processors, and other consultants who work on our behalf. Our hosting providers maintain and manage hosting of the data on our servers and that data is subject to their privacy policy as described here.
The myPolitics application provides a way to remove Individually Identifiable Information at any time. In addition, if you do not use the myPolitics application for a period of time all of your Individually Identifiable Information will be removed automatically. Initially this period of time will be six (6) months, but it may be changed at any time at our sole discretion. When your Individually Identifiable Information is removed your email, password, and geographic location are completely removed from our current on-line systems, but not backup files or other off-line historical records.
Non-aggregated Information
All Non-aggregated Information includes all non aggregated information which is or was linked to your email address and not specifically identified as Individually Identifiable Information above. This may include, but is not limited to, historical data, comments, issue votes, issue importance, access data, log data, ip address, browser type, browser versions, your demographic data, etc. Demographic data may include your birth year, sex, age groupings, generational groupings, congressional district, city, state, country, zip code, etc.
Your Non-aggregated Information may be kept in an anomoyous form in our on-line systems after you remove your Individually Identifiable Information. This is used for aggregated historical trend reporting.
We will NOT share, sell, or rent your Non-aggregated Information to anyone except as noted above for Individually Identifiable Information. Your Non-aggregated Information is not intentionally viewable by other users of the myPolitics application.
Aggregated Information
Aggregated Information includes summaries of votes, comments, importance, and historical trends for issues which are based on your demographic data, but does not include your specific demographic data. We share aggregated information with other myPolitics application users, in published reports and articles, and with others as we see fit. Aggregated Information does not include any Individually Identifiable Information or any individual Non-aggregated Information, as defined above.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information you provide to us as part of your use of our services from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access or disclosure. These steps take into account the sensitivity of the information we collect, process and store and the current state of technology. When you enter sensitive information (such as registration credentials) we encrypt the transmission of that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). We follow generally accepted standards to protect the personal data submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. However, no electronic or email transmission or digital storage mechanism is ever fully secure or error free.
Children
Our services are not directed to children under 13. If you learn that a minor child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us to have that information removed or use the Remove button in the User Setup view. We will NOT knowingly collect, use, or distribute personal information from children under the age of 13.
Changes
Our Privacy Policy may change from time to time and all updates will be posted on this page. If you continue to use our services after those changes are in effect, you agree to the revised policy.
